    Developed by Vandoren in 1983 for jazz and popular music.

    In tests with Jazz saxophonists, the artists found the new "ZZ" reed to be immediately responsive without sacrificing the brightness or tone quality required for their style of music.

    'ZZ' reeds combine the medium-thick heart (more than Java but less than Traditionals), with a profile designed for producing a strong attack with a deep, rich sound.
    The 'ZZ' reed is very free-blowing.
    Available in strengths of 1.5 - 4 and in boxes of 10 (soprano and alto) and boxes of 5 (tenor)
