Vandoren V16 Saxophone Reeds
Launched in 1993 to answer some American jazz musicians (a JAVA with even more wood). The V16 has a thicker tip than the traditional Vandoren reeds and a longer pallet*. Sound: more brilliant, more percussive, particularly well adapted to all the new styles of music.
The topographical diagram of the V16 cut, with the lines connecting areas of equal thickness. The more pointed the arch, the thicker the spine and heart, and conversely, the thinner the side bevels.
The V16 reeds have a medium-thick heart (more than java, but less than traditionals), with a profile designed for producing a strong attack with a deep, rich sound.
(*The pallet is the zone where the waves are propagated with the greates range.)
