FibraCell Reeds
Why does Fibracell sound so good? Because it’s not plastic and it’s not cane. It’s the most highly developed composite structure ever engineered for woodwinds!
The same "woody" tone as cane but with better sound projection.
A reed that is great for doublers because it does not require soaking.
A reed that is playable in all weather conditions, not affected by heat or humidity.
A reed that doesn’t swell, warp or soften when wet.
A reed that lasts up to six times longer than cane with no unplayable reeds, making it less expensive to use than cane.
Quick response for better articulation, excellent pitch stability and intonation in all ranges, even for the clarinet.
Brilliant overtones for a full, vibrant, resonant tone.
A reed with the same weight and stiffness as cane - cane floats and so does Fibracell (try that with a plastic reed!)
A reed that keeps its shape and retains resiliency longer than cane.
Outstanding durability, due to a bonded film on the bottom that helps resist tip splitting.

Vandoren Traditional Reeds
The Vandoren Traditional reed is the most widely played reed in the world with a superiority proven over the years, these reeds suit all styles of music. The Vandoren Traditional reeds are known for their excellent response in all registers, allowing a pianissimo attack in even the highest notes. They are also extremely flexible, allowing the legato or staccato execution of large intervals while maintaining a richness of tone that gives body and clarity to the sound, which is a hallmark of Vandoren Reeds.
Topographical diagram of the Traditional Vandoren reed - the lines connect areas of equal thickness. The more pointed the arch, the thicker the spine and heart of the reed, and conversely, the thinner the side bevels. The Traditional Vandoren Reed has a tip thickness of 0.09mm (0.0035") and a heel thickness of 2.8mm (0.110").

Vandoren V16 Saxophone Reeds
Launched in 1993 to answer some American jazz musicians (a JAVA with even more wood). The V16 has a thicker tip than the traditional Vandoren reeds and a longer pallet*. Sound: more brilliant, more percussive, particularly well adapted to all the new styles of music.
The topographical diagram of the V16 cut, with the lines connecting areas of equal thickness. The more pointed the arch, the thicker the spine and heart, and conversely, the thinner the side bevels.
The V16 reeds have a medium-thick heart (more than java, but less than traditionals), with a profile designed for producing a strong attack with a deep, rich sound.
(*The pallet is the zone where the waves are propagated with the greates range.)

Vandoren Java Saxophone Reeds
Developed by Vandoren in 1983 for jazz and popular music. A thicker extremeity and a more flexible pallet* than the Traditional reed allow vibration over a larger surface area with maximum elasticity. This type of vertebral column gives the musician much greater playing flexibility, as the resultant elasticity zone is very large. The JA stands for Jazz and the VA stands for Variety (entertainment music) and ...Vandoren.
*Pallet: zone where the waves are propagated with the greatest range. From the tip, the waves are absorbed further in the Java reed.
This topographical diagram of the cut has lines connecting areas of equal thickness. The more pointedthe arch, the thicker the spine and heart, conversely, the thinner the side bevels. The Vandoren Java reeds are more flexible than Traditionals and V16s and vibrate on a long pallet, creating a bright sound with immediate response.

Vandoren ZZ Saxophone Reeds
In tests with Jazz saxophonists, the artists found the new "ZZ" reed to be immediately responsive without saxrificing the brightness or tone quality required for their style of music. Its free-blowing characteristics made the artists immediate fans of the new "ZZ" reed.
ZZ reeds combine the medium-thick heart (more than Java but less than Traditionals), with a profile designed for producing a strong attack with a deep, rich sound.
The topographical diagram of the Vandoren ZZ cut shows the lines connecting areas of equal thickness. The more pointed the arch, the thicker the spine and heart, conversely, the thinner the side bevels.
