Denis Wick has revolutionised the world of flugelhorn playing. Carefully worked out cups, throats and bores have given today's superbly talented young players opportunities that were simply not available to earlier generations. The richness, sweetness and flexibility of modern cornet playing, so much a characteristic of the best brass bands are attributable to the careful research which Denis Wick has done in cornet mouthpiece design. The range of Denis Wick mouthpieces is huge, over 100 models, each of which has been individually designed and modified by Mr Wick himself. They are all made in Britain by fine engineers and craftsmen. Every mouthpiece is hand finished an dmade to precise tolerances, with a good standard of polishing and plating. The rims of all models are designed to give the best compromise between maximum comfort and best playing results.
